Off meds and trying for a baby

Hi,
I'm 32 and have been off meds trying for a baby. After 8 months of no luck and pain kicking in we visited our GP who gave us fertility tests which revealed we'll stuggle to conceive quickly. Our GP wrote to the fertility specialist who bluntly stated that we wont receive any help regardless of my condition until 3 years has passed. I'm now struggling to walk and having weekly flare ups in different places and the thought of 2 more years of this is beyond frightening.
I appreciate the NHS is inundated with couples asking for fertility treatment but going private just isn't an option for us.
Do other people struggle with this and is there anything we can do or anyone we can go to for help?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi
Thank you for contacting us. Yes there are many other people in a similar situation to the one you describe. You might want to have a look to see if there is already a topic about this on the living with arthritis forum if not perhaps you might think about starting one yourself as I am sure you'd get some really positive responses.
The best way forward is to have a really in depth discussion with a rheumatologist. There are some meds that rheumatologists may be willing to prescribe whilst people are trying to conceive. There is another charity that also provide support for parents or people that want to become parents which you can access here:

Best wishes
