When you say 'doctor' do you mean GP or orthopaedic surgeon? I ask because, although my ankles are fused and several toe joints, I can't imagine how I'd walk if all the toe joints were fused. Mind you, the best person to advise would be the orthopaedic surgeon so, if he is suggesting it, I'd consider it seriously. If not, you can always get a referral and see what he says. You don't have to go ahead with the op.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

thanks for your reply it was my orthopedic surgeon who advised me it is only 2 of my toes at moment. How was you after you had yours fused. Is it difficult to walk .

I have one fused and one with an implanted (ceramic) joint which has been removed to leave a space. Out of the two the fused joint causes less trouble but can still be painful.
Trouble is that your weight tends to go on all the other toe joints and mine now have the same problems! I doubt if there is a good answer, you must hope that arther won't bite the rest of your joints.

This is purely guesswork but I'd imagine that, with two, fused toes, it wouldn't be difficult to walk. I'm sure the surgeon wouldn't have suggested it if it was.
My situation is different. Mine is RA in virtually all my joints and the fused ones in my feet have fused themselves over time. It is difficult to walk but that's due to lots of things, not just the toes. I think Airwave's experiences are probably more relevant for you.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
