Hi
Got a copy letter {addressed to my GP} from Northumberland Pain Clinic.
He has mentioned the nerve root injections that didnt help L4/5. He is going to try another nerve root injection only this one will be L2/3 and then facet injections considered.
He says I'm "far from lazy continuing my Avon work and my excercises."
He thinks I may benefit from mindfulness and relaxation and has referred me to the health psychology team,
He doesnt think it beneficial that i should be on any more additional anti convulsant meds. Amitriptyline etc could put me a risk of a possible return of seizures {I've been clear 30yrs}
He doesnt think the opioids should be increased at the current time. I'm on codeine 15mg one 4 times a day.
He has sent me a list of dates for a once monthly pain management programme at our local hospital. I can attend as often or as little as I want to. Start and then stop etc
I think thats the lot for the minute.
I've talked to Kristen {physio that does my acupuncture} about tens and he is going to book me in when I finish my course of acupuncture....as he says I need to know which is helping and which isnt...the acupuncture or the TENS
Love

Gosh Hileena ...you do have a good pain clinic....when I was sent for injections I never heard a thing and did ask for ant letter to be sent to me.
Has for a psychology team, that wasn't mentioned...I am so glad you are being treated properly.I have a tens machine that works while it is on, but I'm never sure were to put the pads...
You take care and hopefully you will get some relief very soon xxLove

All in all I think that sounds rather positive, Hileena. They are looking at you as a whole and trying to fix what they can so good luck with it and I hope it all helps. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Sounds as if they are looking after you well Hileena, I have done the mindfulness and all the rest that goes with it, it helped to a certain extent it can teach you to distract from the pain for a while, personally, worth while..............Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile
smile another smile and soon there
will be miles and miles of smiles
just because you smiled I wish your
day is full of Smiles0 -
He seems to know what he's doing, Hileena. And even leaving you in charge to a large extent. That sounds great to me.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
