Anyone else having trouble with delivery of their Enbrel?

Twice now I've had to call up the pharmacy delivery company when my Enbrel has run out. The first time they hadn't got a prescription from the hospital and didn't seem to think there was any urgency at all. I had to make a complaint to get it sent out. No-one kept me informed of what was going on so I was worrying about it.

Just now they hadn't changed my delivery date when I'd had an accident and my supply had run out early. Only just realised I had one injection left and no arrangements made to deliver the next lot. i rang this morning and said it runs out on Friday and they told me the prescription started from Monday (I take it Sat and Tues) as if that made any difference. I would still need a delivery before the end of the week.

When I complain, they agree it is their responsibility to call me but it never happens. Anyone else having this problem?

I don't take any of the meds that have to be delivered but, if I did, this situation would worry me. I don't know how it works - does the hospital have a contract with someone? I think I'd want to complain higher up the chain than just the delivery people. You need peace of mind over this, Salamander. Try reminding them that stress is bad for arthritis

Thanks Barbara and Sticky, I will talk to my rhuemy nurse, she knows about the first episode but not the most recent.

They are supposed to keep tabs on when my drugs are due and contact the hospital for a prescription and then contact me to arrange a delivery date. They usually do this about 10 days before your current supply runs out but this is the second time in a row they haven't. There were changes but no-one changed it on the system, which is ridiculous. I've got no confidence in them or anything they tell me and they never ring me back to let me know what is going on. Grrrrr!

I think talking to the nurse is a good plan. It might be that the hospital has no idea how inefficient they are and might do something about it if they did know. I hope it works.
