My right knee issues were originally diagnosed with cartilage damage following which I had the OA diagnosis and in total 9 operations including various arthroscopies, this repaired, that repaired, microfracture, cartilage graft and the icing on the cake was a partial knee replacement. Still not good and still causing pain.
Recently I had x-rays to both knees as both were giving me gyp. Ronnie the Replacement is appearing to still be sitting where he was put in 2009 and the medical bods are unable to say why I'm getting pain.
My left knee x-ray report referred to cartilage damage, OA and the fact that 'the patient would benefit from an ortho review'. Whoopy doo hey! Happy days are here again, dum, de dum de dum ... This explains why it's locking when I go to sit down and the pain I'm getting. We won't even mention the crepitus. I certainly can't creep up on anyone that's for sure!
So, I'm now awaiting to see an Ortho Cons at an outreach clinic at my GP surgery one evening to discuss the way forward with my left knee. I was dreading the x-ray results (obviously with good reason!) and am now dreading that consultation.
As I do not benefit from generic wash-outs (arthroscopies) I think I'm going to take the view that if the ortho cons can do repairs whilst he's in my left knee with his camera then I'll agree to a 'scope being done.
Am feeling a bit fed up to be honest as having 'travelled down this road before' I really didn't want a repeat of this particular journey but it looks like fate has intervened and said otherwise. much to my annoyance.
Ah well, that's life as good old Esther used to say.
Hope you're having reasonable days.
Take care,
GraceB

It must all be very wearying. And annoying. I can accept pain (Thank God  ) but, when I have surgery, I do expect to be fixed at least for some time.

I'm afraid I've no advice, Grace, just a lot of hopes that this visit to the ortho guy will be different and will result in a distinct improvement one way or another.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
