Talk about being efficient,we were s
In shock for her. But she ok now,she just so embarrassed coz she peed all the way along the corridor

I hope you'll feel better once the physio's been, Eileen.

Ah the cameraderie of the ortho ward! I remember it well. I hope the lady who fainted is OK now.

    Eileen

Its lovely how you all get on in hospital isn't it? I made some good friends and we all bounced off each other, bringing in bits from our visitors....
I didn't like it when they took out the catheter as couldn't pee for ages and the other end, god it was driving me round the bend!....Fainted too over lunch...
You sound like you are in great spirits....Keep it up...When you getting out?

    Hi Eileen

So pleased to hear that you are having a great social life atm! ;):)

Don't worry, the physio will sort you out. :D I was a drama queen in hossie too and fainted as I got out of bed, for the first time post op, well on the way back. I warned them I usually do it and they were ready for me! When I came round I thought I had got back to the bed ok but was told otherwise. All buzzing round me, windows flung open, bed raised. I am told I perhaps do not breathe deeply enough when getting up for the first time post op.

Hope today goes well for you and your new found friends.

    Hugs

Sounds like all's going well, I was in a private room, but we all use to drop into each other once we were up and about, hope you are home by now.

Physio been round this morning and is well chuffed with my bend.....im well. Chuffed with my bend too.she's had me along corridor with crutches which I found really tiring.she also said I had to try walk with my leg rather than my hip which I use, like she says it will come to me.maybe try stairs this afternoon if I feel. Like.
Am bored now coz they've moved me to other end of ward in a single room, they needed my bed for theatre patient coming down
I might have a wander later on although its a fair distance, well to my tortoise legs it is.

    Eileen

I found it funny doing steps as we only have one into our bungalow..so when I was going for my daily walks at home going out the door I had to think about what leg goes first, sounds stupid but I had to say to myself "operated leg first going down steps" and "operated leg last going up steps"....Sounds like a great ward/room you are in and I guess you would miss the other patients but you may get a sounder sleep..

    Hi Eileen :)

I guess we all overdo it a few times and get the wake up call that it was just a tad too much enthusiasm too early on post op. Did it myself.

:D Enjoy your weekend back home and remember the RICE Code: REST, ICE, COMPRESSION, ELEVATE. Physio exercises too.

Home again? Brilliant. But do remember you've a lot of convalescing to do yet. Stick with Elna's advice and you won't go far wrong.
