Something else to contend with!!

Hi everyone. Have had computer problems for last few days so have been unable to post. Hopefully now sorted. Went to see my GP this morning (having waited nearly 3 weeks for appointment!) regarding problem with knee. As I very much suspected - although hoped I was wrong - she thinks it is OA and now have to trek to hospital (28th) for x-ray. She said it is linked in with my back problem (which is what I thought might be the case). Problem with back is right side and it is the right knee that has come out in sympathy!!! As I told her when you have back problems and are in pain you probably don't walk 'correctly' as are trying to alleviate the pain as much as possible. Also tend to put more pressure on poor knee to try and take the pain away from back - vicious circle. She told me that my left knee may well suffer in due course - something else to look forward to :(

Have discovered that for some things can now do a self-referral for physiotherapy so have completed form for that and now wait to see how long it will be before an appointment is forthcoming.

Hope you are all as well as possible. At least it's warmed up a bit - though according to the forecast may be a bit short-lived by the end of next week.

Beryl

    Hello Beryl

Good to see you, but not so good to hear your news :( Though I am not surprised either. One thing can lead to another can't it?

Glad at least that 1) the computer is ok so we can hear from you

and 2) that you can (and will?) self-refer for physio??

    Love

I'm sorry about the knee, Beryl. Arthritis is a sneaky little monster, isn't it?

Glad your computer's back on track and hope the physio helps. I daredn't even contemplate how I'd be without my daily exercises.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Sticky, Lizzie and Toni. Thanks for your messages. Arthritis really is a beast to contend with isn't it, as we all, unfortunately know only too well.
Had a very bad night last night as both knee and back decided in their wisdom that I didn't need any sleep (contrary to my thoughts)!! Have spent the day feeling a little 'crashed out' to say the least.

Hope you are all having as good a day as possible.

    Beryl
