Hi all,

After losing my leg at 16, then developing Osteoarthritis, I am now scheduled for a THR on my left hip (right leg is fully amputated).

This has been very difficult to find any infomation on, it seems (although I'm sure it isn't) to be a unique situation.

So, I've started a blog just in case anyone else comes along with the same set of requirements and for general amusement. It's quite a cathartic process and I hope you get some enjoyment from it.

That sounds like a very useful and helpful thing to do, stigger. I hope it goes really well for you.

Lordy oh lordy, this must be a very tough thing to face (I've now realised that my arthritises are comparatively easy beasts).

I have made a note of your blog details and all I can do is wish you the very best. It's brave people like you who carry forward the doctors' knowledge and surely that will benefit others: it would be better, however, if it could be done differently, yes? DD

I've just read your blog. You have such a wonderful way with words, it had me laughing and crying. One of the best I've read, please, keep on writing.

I wish you well with your surgery, and hope your recovery is fast and problem free.

    Good luck with everything,
    RC
