Just back from seeing physio, she is pleased with new knee, went on the exercise bike, and was soon pedaling as normal, you have no idea how good this felt. Diane said she doesn't need to see me anymore but to ring and go in if I have any concerns. I can do as much as I want but to listern to my knee, build up my endurance and try and get my knee to straighten, all in all I am really happy. who knows wont be long before I can get out on my proper bike.
Best wishes.
Barry.

Well done, sounds like you're doing really well. Surprised the physio has stopped though - our hospital insists on a minimum 6 sessions but at 2-3 week intervals, but after the 2nd one if you're doing well physio becomes a group gym session! Maybe you had your sessions closer together than me?

I'm cycling daily to work now (it's less than 2 miles), and a trip into town (3 miles each way) at the weekends. The only thing holding back my progress is that it is so darned cold! The weather, and work, sap my energy so when I get home I'm too tired to do a full set of physio exercises so I'm probably not doing as much as I should. I try to get through a full set of the straightening and bending exercises before work though.

Well, that is good going. I must admit that after my THR, I had no physio at all. Was just left to get on with it.

So, I am really pleased for you. Keep up the good work.

    Barry

All sounding good I am only just cycling now at 4.5months post TKR and it hurts like hell...Physio don't tend to keep hold of you for long now as soon as you show you are getting stronger than its discharge but at least you have follow up if you need it? The straightening in my opinion is harder than bending....

    Good stuff

It sounds as if all is going very well, Barry, and I'm pleased for you. I'm sure you'll keep doing the right things for your knee. Enjoy having your life back :D
