Hello

Wondered if anyone could help me. I have Ulcerative Colitis and various other inflammatory conditions. Having problems with swelling joints now and problems getting a consultant who understand this. Does anyone with UC know a rheumatologist who does understand and who practices anywhere between Leeds and Newcastle.

Cheers

The consultant guide on Dr Foster usually notes any specialities or interests that the different consultants hold so might be worth a check, failing that, have you asked your GP to find out? I'm not from that area so I can't help but I am sure if others know of somebody they will be along to suggest them to you soon.

I don't know about Ulcerative Colitis, or Newcastle, but I think Leeds' Chapel Allerton is something of a Centre of Excellence. They've always been brilliant for me.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I was about to recommend Chapel Allerton, but Sticky beat me to it. :D I haven't personally been there, but have heard many good things about a Professor there.

I'm seeing a guy based in North Tyneside and Northumberland, but I was referred by my GP, I thought it was just pot luck that you get whatever rheumie you're given! Good luck anyway, hope you get a good one xx

    Hi,

Sorry I have just seen this.
My Rheumie is based at Bishop Auckland... I know she also works in Durham and I have seen her in Darlington before.

Hope this helps. Get in touch if you want more info :) xx
