Hi, Sorry I havent been on much recently.
I've had a phone call from a clinical psychologist this morning.
This is a result of a vist to the pain clinic.
She asked questions about pain, how it affected me, my moods etc.
She has mad a one to one appointment for the 2 April.
So we'll see how that goes.
Do you remember my GP saying a pain clinic wouldnt do anything because of lack of funding???????????????? :x

Well they mentioned acupuncture but i was in the middle of a course anyway,
Tens classs,
Self Management group for chronic pain once a month
I've got a day surgery next week for root nerve injections in a different place this time.
TENS class
and now the Psychologist.
I dont consider that nothing

Love
HIleena

I am so glad it is working out for you. And you're gp said they wouldn't offer anything. It just goes to show doesn't it.

Perhaps your gp is anti pain clinics, or just plain miserable, Hileena ;) I hope when you see him next you praise the pain clinic to the hilt and say what a wonderful support it is/has been for you. :D

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

No, I wouldn't call that nothing either! It does all sound really good. I think the psychologist thing is great. My friend with fibro said that is the bit of pain mgt that helped her the most. Oh, I hope your nerve root injections work too.

    Hi
    Thanks everyone
Oh dont worry Elna.....I'll praise them the next time I go to the GP's
and take great pleasure in doing so!!!!
Not so sure about the root nerve injections .....the first lot didnt do any good but they were L4/L5......this is L2/L3.....so we can just hope for the best. If not facet injections after that....I'll be like a pin cushion :lol:
I do believe that a lot of what we suffer is between the ears if you know what I mean  Not all of it but if it helps....great.

I agree, Hileena, about the suffering. And there aren't really any good tablets to take for that either! Somebody to talk to who might have sensible, non-patronising coping strategies to suggest sounds like a good thing to me.

As for the injections I will still keep my fingers crossed for you. Let us know when they are and I will sit in your pocket.
