Well....

I 'finally' have THE appointment to see my consultant at the end of the month, to discuss replacing both my knee's / and or kneecap's....

I'm 'VERY' nervous to say the least - loads of questions milling around in my head....

Please come along for 'pocket duties' and give me your support.... and if you can think of any further vital questions I may need to ask, please let me know on here.....

THANKING YOU ALL.....xx

I suggest you make sure you listen carefully. We all go armed with questions but if we're so anxious to get through them all, we can end up only half-listening to the answers. Which op you have will depend on the state of the various bits of your knee. I've had two TKRs and a revision but still have my original kneecaps but patellofemoral replacement is quite common.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Count me in - can you surreptitiously switch your 'phone on to record the appointment? Sticky makes a very good point - anxiety and nerves can have a devastating effect on one's listening and remembering skills. DD

    Hi Guys....

Appointment was earlier than I expected... thank goodness I was reminded by the hospital... oopps

    WELL....

I saw my consultant, had loads of xrays and then saw a physio.

    AND GREAT NEWS,

I am now officially on the waiting list as they have agreed to operate on BOTH KNEES together....

I'm obviously nervous about having both done together, but guess no pain no gain and they both need doing.

Now have to wait for the appointment for surgery to come through, they think the waiting list is around 4-6 months JOY...
I'll keep popping the pain killers till then, but there is light at the end of a very long tunnel

    xx
