Hi,
I have only been taking Hydroxy for 5 months but I have noticed almost from the start that the pain and stiffness in my hands has increased to the point that it wakes me during the night and I drop so many things during the day I have goalkeepers backache picking them up.
Does anyone have any similar or even different problems with Hydroxy.
Thanks for any replies

I've never had any problems with hydroxy although I've been on it over ten years currently and for several years previously. I don't think any med is 'problem free' but I don't think this is one that causes many.
In fact, from what you've written, it sounds to me as if it's simply not working well enough to keep your arthritis at bay. Is that all you're taking? I use it with methotrexate and I think it's normally used in combination. You might need stronger meds.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I have to agree with Sticky's advice. I have taken hydroxy for a few years myself now and have had no side effects. However I now take azathiaprione as well as my disease has progressed.0

Do you have a rheumatology helpline that you could ring? If not, I think you should ask for an earlier appointment with the rheumatologist. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Yes I ache more ....never persevered to find out if it wears off with time...blurred vision and itching.
I am yet to find something that suits me and I can cope with day to day.
Sulphas ok but I cant get up to the prescribed dose without it bothering my stomach.Ruby0 -
