High Seat Garden Chair

Hi, I struggle to get in and out of 'normal' garden chairs. I have done some research but can't find one with a higher seat than usual. Can anyone recommend where I can get one, ideally a fold up one. Thank you

Hi nightflight and welcome to the forum.
I take a dining chair out into the garden or sometimes just use a thick cushion. (A thick padded cushion for a dining chair is good.)If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Have you thought of looking at camping chairs as opposed to garden chairs? I don't really know, because I don't have any folding chairs (not had for years), but they may be sized differently and be easier to get in and out of.0

Just a tip - hard seats are easier to get out of than soft ones and flat seats easier than those that slant backwards. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thanks stickywicket a dining chair at home will be good, but I was hoping to find something to fold up and take out in the car (hoping for some warm sunny weather this summer!). Thanks for the other tips too, I will look at camping chairs.

The garden centres and department stores will be getting their summer things in soon(Easter's usually the trigger) so it might be worth going around and trying out chairs. Would arms help with getting up? A suitable cushion can help with extra height, and again they will be available with the garden furniture, so you would be able to get one the right size.0

If you google 'folding chair' quite a lot of stuff comes up. You'd just need to know what height you needed. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Being 5' 7" tall I need a higher seat now but they all seemed to be geared for the shorter types. My rollator seat is pretty good however, so that kills two birds with one stone - I can lurch to wherever then sit in relative comfort. I find standard picnic chairs too flimsy and unsteady but my husband bought me an oversized foldable chair - the downside of that was its weight. An inflatable pillow may be an answer. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

First time I've been on the Forum and its great to know how many helpful people there are out there with similar problems. Best wishes to you all. Sue0
