I ended up having a THR. Instead of the planned HR, had the op on Monday night and came home last night, I'm feeling good, a little stiff and very tired but amazed at how well I feel. Thank you to the people who posted advice when I was feeling anxious prior to my op xx

Wow, was that a bit of a shock for you? I'm sure they wouldn't have done that if there wasn't the real need so I wish you well with it, be a patient patient and I hope your recovery goes smoothly. DD

Yes I plan on being a good patient, I want this hip to improve my life and let me get on with the things I used to love, like shopping and walking my dog, x

I'm glad it all seems to have turned out well in the end. Now rest, exercise and elevate it. No housework at all!

Well done you. I know it was probably a shock , but best to have the whole thing done & get it right. I had mine done last July & its made a huge difference. My new hip is working well , gets a bit sore still & Ive still got pain but Ive got OA in other hip & spine, but so much better. Im sure you will soon feel the bebefit, just make sure you do your exercises to get your muscles nice & strong.

Thank you everyone, I was a little stiff and my hip a little swollen last night, but I slept quite well consideriring I hate lying on my back. I am being very disappointed with the exercises. I am keeping optomistic about the future but enjoy reading about other peoples experiences.
