Spoke to arthroplasty man and apparently because my current knee flexion is around the 97%/100% mark then when I go on the exercise bike at the gym then I will be pushing myself hard and that's why I am getting the pain I am getting...One my flexion pushed over 110-120% mark I should feel/experience less pain....They offered me an outpatients appointment but I said it was okay as was satisfied with the explanation given...As long as I can digest things and make them logical I am happy...Elainexx

Good. That makes sense, doesn't it?

    Hi Marie

Yes it is a relief and I never feel like I'm wasting their time @ Wrightington if I have any queries that's what I like..It makes sense that if the exercise bike hurts me to do then it is going to hurt and grumble when Im done its saying "look your'e pushing me and Im telling you how I feel"..

Yes it does make sense and I should have thought about it more logically, but the mind (well mine) doesn't always work that way!....

That makes perfect sense Elaine, but there's no way you could have known that for sure in advance. So that's put your mind at rest.

That's great news, might be an idea to drop down a level on the exercise bike. I do 15 mins at level one without any problems. Take care and have a great weekend.

That's good news, the knee sounds fine. Try raising the saddle on the exercise bike a little so your knees don't have to bend so far - that way you can still get a good workout without too much pain. Then after a few sessions you might find you can lower it again.

I didn' think of it like that but I don't truly know my bend would estimate its between 97 - 105%...

Its not set at a high level in fact think I only go on it to get pedalling....Like i said 15mins sounds a mountain to climb I'm going to aim for 8 or 9 mins in next week?

Have a good weekend too...hi to Jim!

Well when I get on it the saddle is high at level 8 I think but then when pedalling my hip kinks out and so we put it down one to make it more manageable for me...I always pull funny guerning faces on the bike and tell the staff not to watch my face as its a right one!!
