I have started having trouble getting out of a chair especially in the evinings when I get ready for bed. I am riddled with arthritis and fibro and wondered if anyone had any ideas. This is the first year this has happened and it also the first year that my knees have really given me jip.

There are some brilliant easy chairs around with springs that gently raise you out of the chair when you begin to stand.

    Have a look on t'internet :)

    Hi
This is something I have had to come to terms with...I have raised cushions..and also I use my stick....if you look in the disability aids there is a stick with 3 feet ..and the handle has a sought of a bend in it then you can hold it with two hands...
    Hope this helps x
    Love

I would suggest investing in a riser recliner , wouldn't be without mine . The OT now provides them in this area so ask them before you spend . Jillyb

I want to thank everyone for their help. I was going to get a recliner it was too expensive. With everyone's help I shall get in touch with my OT and see if she can help with a recliner. The only problem is being in Cornwall, will I get the help.

Is it because the chair is too low, Mari that you are having problems? Could you have the legs of the chair raised that you sit in?

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.
