hi everyone,

i just feel like i need a little rant about the past night and day. i've not had any sleep at all so if my spelling/ grammer is off, please excuse it.

my husband and i are trying to get pregnant so i came off arcoxia in feb. this has meant i'm in so much more pain it's unreal. so yesterday i finally got to see a gp (after a two week wait) hoping to get a referal to the pain clinic.
i said when i made the app. that i needed a downstairs app. as i can't manage stairs, and they said that was fine. i got to the gps yesterday, checked myself in and double checked that my app. was downstairs. the receptionist said it was. 45 minutes later (!) another receptionist came into the waiting room to say that i had to go upstairs because the gp couldn't come down. i wasn't very happy, as you can imagine, but after 2weeks of increasing pain i felt i had no choice. so up the two flights of stairs i went. after another 45min wait i finally got to see the gp. she was very dismissive and said that i should just go back on arcoxia and that she would write to my rheumy.
i also said that i had trouble sleeping so she, rather grudgingly, prescribed amitriptyline.

i took my first and last amitrip. last night. rather than helping me sleep i've been awake all night being sick. and when i did try to go to bed my legs got so fidgety that i woke stuart up, so i've spent the rest of the night on the sofa.

i know my reaction to the amitrip. wasn't the gp's fault, she couldn't have forseen that, but i do feel like she should have taken me seriously in the first place, and not just tried to throw pills at me until i went away.

sorry that this has been so long, but i really needed to get it off my chest :x :(

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good.

First off all I would complain to your GP about the length of time you had to wait, (keeping in mind you have a medical condition).

I would make an appoinment or call your Rhumey nurse for some advise too.

I have my consultant appointment next and going to asked about coming off Meth to try and have a baby. Not looking forward to the pain, but I think there are other things that they can give me?

    Hope things improve for you.
