Hi all, just thought i'd come on here for a bit of a moan. I have been feeling really rough and in so much pain with my hands and fingers. Think I may have a slight chest infection at the minute to as I have a very croaky voice, barking cough and a night I have not been able to breath as I have been coughing so much. On the up side my rheumy app is in 5 days and this cant come fast enough, maybe I will get some answers, I know I'm probably in for a long haul but at least I am in the right direction. The pain has been chronic just lately, shooting pains I my hand and wrists, fingers so stiff and utterly drained. In fact I wake feeling like I have been run over by a bus. Anyway I hope everyone else is feeling a little better than I do at he minute. Thank you for the rant

Ah, I completely empathise with the cough, croaky voice etc as I am in the same upper respiratory tract infection boat myself. This has led to my asthma resurfacing - do you have a history of that? It may be worth going to the GP just ot be checked over.
As regards the appointment I am pleased that it's come through at last. Don't get your hopes up too high about what may result but yes indeedy you are moving in the right direction. Please let us know how it goes, yes? Good luck. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

I've never suffered with my breathing before so It was quite strange to be suffering with this, maybe just the affects off the virus. Feeling much better today with the chest though. Appointment is tomorrow and I definitely not expecting miracles. I'm feeling quite nervous not knowing what to expect from my first appointment. Sorry to hear your both not well at the minute to, there must be something going around. Wynnie my hubby is a fisherman to, often comes back from his fishing trips all flued up in the winter. Hope you are both feeling much better and thanks for the replies. Fingers crossed for tomorrow xx :?0

I cannot remember what we've told you about first appointments (I'm in a brain fog) but I hope you've been keeping a diary of what's been going on - if not not to worry, take a quiet half hour to sit down and just note the highs and lows of the past few months. The more info you can give the rheumatologist the better the all-round picture he will glean of you. He may request more bloods, maybe Xrays or summat, and I for one will be thinking of you. Please let us know how you get on, yes? Are you able to take someone with you for another pair of ears? (Their moral support can also help!) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I have been keeping a diary, which was mentioned on here and I am taking my friend as my hubby will be at work. If they send me for more bloods and x-rays will they be requested on another day or the same day? I don't have any visable swelling well only slight above my knees, my fingers hurt to touch though. I am hoping they do take me seriously as i'm youngish and it took me a while to get a doctor to understand my pain. I Shall let you all know how I get on tomorrow and thanks again for the support and info xx0

Hi all, well had my first appointment today. It was 2 hours long, plenty of bloods took and 6 x-rays later. Mri scan and ultra sound also being booked in. Rheumy has said all my symptoms point in direction of RA. X-rays were normal but I was symptomatic. Got to wait and see what the other scans reveal. He understood me and could tell it was painful. So in the right direction guys, I suppose x0
