Hi
I have quietly been applying, being turned down, being reconsidered, being turned down again and now been accepted for an appeal for DLA since last November. (I tried once before and was turned down and gave up at the first hurdle ).
I am ringing them weekly, as I very rarely get any correspondence, and today was told it has been accepted for appeal. I asked what happens now and was told it could take 6 months to be looked at as they don`t have enough staff !! Can anyone advise me of what I can expect form this process (I don`t mean the outcome obviously). do I have to go to a tribunal? He said no, but this seems similar to a reconsideration then?
I am hoping they will accept me this time as I do worry about the future and work etc.. even with my new hip I still have OA in my spine and bulging discs and know this will not improve with time.
Thank you for reading
NB

Sorry NB I don't really know as I am one of the lucky ones that got it straight off so have never had to appeal, I don't know whether it's anything to do with the change over from DLA to PIP, I can only hope youget it sorted out soon, if I was you I would keep hounding them, good luck keeping fimgers crossed for you..................Marie xx
