Doctors Surgery recognising you

Its such a strange thing living in London and having the receptionists at the doctors be able to recognise who you are purely from just saying 'hello can I have a doctors appointment please' over the phone. Its a bit strange because occasionally I get paranoid needing to go in so much, which is a little silly. Sort of nice being known though, especially if its a GP remembering your story etc.
