Hi there
After living with RA & fybromyalgia for 11 years, it seems I've now developed OA. My end finger joints are affected, and one thing I've noticed is that the skin on these fingers really itches. Is this a usual symptom with OA?
To cap it all, it seems that the Enbrel I've been taking for 6 years is starting to fail, again it's affecting my fingers, so nearly all joints in my fingers are now painful.
I know help will be at hand, possibly to try rituxumab, but I will hold out a bit longer, in case things settle down.

Welcome to a rotten gang, it's not fun, is it? OA has ensued for me, Sticky, Jillyb1 and probably some others too. In my case it's in both ankles and both knees (thanks to the damage caused by my PsA) but it's new in my right hip and neck. I don't know about the itchy skin however, I've always figured that OA is internal rather than external.
I am sorry that enbrel is not doing as wel for you as it has in the past; my feeling is that it's not so much as the drug failing but the body adjusting, but, like all these things, the rate at which that happens is individual. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
I had problems with itchy skin on some of my finger joints and it seemed to be linked with the development of the B...H...nodes(pardon my french!). When it first happened last autumn I thought it was the result of having got a prickle or nettle sting from being on the allotment, but it took a couple of weeks to settle and when it did, lo and behold, nice little bony lump. It's happened on three other joints now, interestingly all top joints.0
