Would it be safe to consume alcohol if I skip an MTX dose?

Hello I am a 20 year old male and with RA. It has recently flared up and I am taking Methotrexate. As you all probably know, you are not supposed to have more than about 1 or 2 drinks a week on the drug. However, in a few weeks I am going to be turning 21 AND attending my fraternities formal and I would like very much to be able to drink without fear of hurting my liver.
My question is, can I simply skip 1 weekly dose of MTX for the formal? My Rheumatologist said before when I told him I got sick on MTX that I could skip a dose and it would be no big deal.
So does MTX stay in your system for more than a week enough to cause harm? Thanks.

Should be OK if all your routine blood tests have been OK.
Just don't over do it young man

Be on the safe side and ring the rheumy nurses up and ask some advice....if our meds take months to build up in our systems it wont be gone and maybe you can still take it anyway once you ahve checked :?
I am sure they will understand your situation and have plenty of sympathy
I am taking my eldest aged 18 to the peadiatrician on 24th and we are going to ask about her meds (for hemiplegic migraines) and alcohol. There are times aren't there??
When is your birthday then? Are we all invited
love
