Rheumy doc very thorough!!

Hi all, so on Tuesday I had my first rheumy appointment. I had 6 x-rays, examination and 10 tubes of blood sent off. I am being booked in for a lumber spine MRI scan and MRI of the hands and an ultrasound to. The appointment was 2 hours long and I felt he was really checking everything on me. He did say I was symptomatic to RA and there seemed to be some sort of inflammation there but my x-rays seemed to look ok. He sent for more bloods to elaborate on what the GP had already done, bearing in mind my RA factor was negative but some auto immune test was positive and my vitamin d level was slightly low. So I'm not entirely sure what he was thinking. I have had chronic lower back pain for several years and have just come terms that, that is something I will always have. Its only the last 6 months I've had stiffness in my fingers and pains in my knees and felt extremely tired all day and seem to pick up every cold going. So I wander if the MRI of my spine is to check why I get back pain. If nothing shows up in my scans does anybody know what they will do for me, will they treat me for the pain or just leave me to it? I'm hoping I get some answers soon as why I am in so much pain and it seems to be going in the right direction and fairly quickly now. Rambling now so will end there lol. Thank you x

I am so glad you had a good appointment, mine didnt go well and I always worry that people will feel so let down like I was.
I have had two MRIs of my back...my GP arranged these...and they do show up so much more than an Xray...when I got the letter ..it showed quite a few probs up ....so hopefully they will find what is wrong...if they dont find anything sometimes they will do another one...but dont worry they do show everything...good luck with it and I hope you get some answers very soon x
