Tens machine

Morning folks
I've started using my tens machine on my lower back but for some reason it gives me a feeling like I need to pee! I am going to docs today as pain has been terrible but must admit I have been overdoing it a bit, no choice really, house still needs hoovering and cleaning must be done. I was talking to someone who gets injections in his spine and it does give him better relief than meds, anyone had these and are they offered or do you have to ask GP. I'm hoping to get back to work soon but at the moment my mobility is extremely poor, FM doesnt help. Any suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks
Wendy

Hi
Don't forget your kidneys are around your back area
Might help if you move position of the pads but your doctor will be able to explain it might be something unrelated
Take care

Hi Wendy
I have back probs and I was told on my last appointment, that if I suddenly need to pee or lose control..then I must report back..it may be that you are stimulating your kidneys like Maris has said...but make sure you mention it to your GP ..I hope you get some relief very soon...xLove

I have had spinal injections. They were offered by my surgeon. I think some people get them from the pain clinic. They did work for me but weren't a long term option for me as they only lasted 3 months really well and then 3 more months less well. I have since had spinal fusion at the affected level and that has worked a treat!0

if its just when the tens machines on, i wouldnt use it.
incontinence, change in sensation, weakness and back pain can be a sign of cauda equina syndrome which is why they say report it. but if its just when the tens machines on your probably stimulating a nerve0 -
Hi
I use a TENS machine for left hip pain and it does that to me too (need to pee). Perhaps it is stimulating a nerve somewhere?0
