I asked the physio for help with my hands as they are so painful. She said it was dactylitis and to use ice which I have but they are still swollen. My knuckles are deformed which makes life hard and I have a contracture. My palms have a burning pain, which makes tasks such as washing hands torture.
I would appreciate any ideas to ease the pain and or swelling. I am on azathiaprione and plaquenil and consider myself pretty well controlled symptom wise, so this is a silly nuisance.

You could try some compression gloves and/or some anti inflammatory gel.x0

That sounds so painful Suzygirl - poor you. Apart from using ice I haven't any other suggestions I'm afraid, but hopefully someone else will be able to help. Hope you get some relief soon.

Thanks Catie and Liz. I am wondering why my meds are not controlling it. I will ask at my next appointment.0

Have you tried a 'Dietary Approach' in trying to help your symptoms? Foods such as Salmon (rich in omega 3 fatty acids and anti-inflammatory agents) may help to reduce your swelling and inflammation0
