Ive just got my shoes from W**er Fit Shoes and I measured a size 7 (normally a size 8/9) 6E but when I put them on, they are way to wide BUT I still cant get my orthotics in properly as my orthotics are too wide but the hospital say my orthotics fit my feet properly.

Ive never really worn my orthotics unless I wear boots as they seem too wide for the shoes which then makes my ankles slip.

I ordered some leather T bar bucked shoes which on paper seemed SO perfect and I thought finally I have found some shoes.

Ive tried Hotters and Clarks with my Dad on Monday and they were all to thin.

Im just really confused as I seem to have really wide feet but my orthotics dont seem to fit in to shoes??

I would LOVE to find some shoes that work perfectly so I can just wear my orthotics and not have to worry about them :)

What type of shoes work well with orthotics?

Aww I am sorry , I know how much you were looking forward to getting these shoes, I do wish I could help, and hopefully someone that has orthotics fitted will be along soon....I suppose there is no way you could ask to see them again and take the shoes with you...x

    Thanks Barbara. x

Ive just sent them back for a smaller width and if I cant get my orthotics in, I am going to keep them as I love the style so much.

I own no shoes at the moment anyway so will be good to have another pair. All I own at the moment are sea boots and wetsuit boots for work and Fat Face slip on leather mules which all do nothing for my feet.

I have an appointment at orthotics next wednesday so I am going to mention this to her.

    Hi

I had special insoles fitted for my bunion but they were made within about 10mins by a rushed person and they looked fit for nothing. I couldn't even use them as they were too big for any of my shoes/footwear so it was a complete waste of time..
I'm having trouble having sandals I can wear that don't make my feet hot. I have some mary-jane type ones but I long to have my toes out a bit...Cos I have to wear little toe protectors on both feet it narrows the search down quite a bit...

My brother has just said, do you want to bother with your orthotics still?!

I've always had flexible flat feet, I was born with it. I never realised I had flexible flat feet, altho I did wonder why I didn't make the 'normal' foot prints in the sand when at the beach. It wasn't until I started to get my pain from my coalition and arthritis, that I got my orthotics.

The pain has never really improved with my orthotics and as my surgeon says (he's a sailor himself), you can't sail with orthotics and as my job is sailing, I spend 6 days a week without the orthotics in for 10 hours a day.

I'm thinking about giving up with my orthotics especially as my right foot will be fused on 9th May. I won't throw the orthotics away as I can always wear them if things change etc. x

I've just had a email from the company and they have said that I am a EEEEEE width but instead of a size 7, I would be a size 6 which I am amazed about as I've never been that small.

Looking like the Jenny shoes are going to work for me so I'm a happy bunny.
