I feel for you, Mig, but what exactly do you need to learn - not to switch TV on? They don't need a TV. Mine goes into Victor Meldrew mode the minute he starts driving the car. Every other motorist is an idiot. Their only pleasure lies on being miserable. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Mine gets an awful lot of pleasure then!0 -
If we didn't have the tv on that means I would have to talk to him more often than saying " it's on the table",I must learn not to put contentious program's on like watchdog ,the news ,soaps basically anything ,I have over the years learnt how to tune him out but sometimes something's sneak through. Oh mig
he so reminds me of my kids' Dad
rant, rant, rant :roll:0 -
It's a bloke thing. Maybe it's time for a second telly so you can watch what you want in peace and quiet and he can watch and rant in another room. I was chatting to a friend yesterday about our respective moaners, mine has hit the age where he now routinely grumbles at the weatherpeople. I've given up saying it's not their fault. Mind you, there is a comeback you could employ: wait until he's watching something he loves and you talk all the way through it. Mig I feel for you, and I am just learning to check what is on the TV before I turn over..I was warned the older they get the worse they get...and yes master chef he hate the women's voice..mind you so do I ...but he never lets up all the way through..and I could go on.... :roll:Love

And there was me thinking I was the only one. Having a Victor meldrew myself. Doesn't drive you mad. I tend to go into auto mode and nod at the right moments (I hope)Karen xx0

Unsure, you've taken the words out of my mouth0

Isn't it obvious? Without the moaning men, we wouldn't be moaningIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

[quoteOf course you would, you'd be moaning about something the men did or didn't do ;-)[/quote]
If they'd just shut up and do as they were told, there wouldn't be a problem!0 -
In total agreement with that. Mig0

Strewth. Mig, you have my unbounded sympathy (I've never watched BGT with or without an imaginary buzzer) but surely some things are beyond the pale. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
