Hi
I just wondered if any of you out there have been on the drug Azathioprine and if so did you suffer any nasty side effects
My daughter has just started it for her ulcerative colitis
I have Osteoarthritis and inflammatory arthritis so there's the link between us
Our inflammatory markers are always normal
I have posted on colitis forum but they do not seem to reply to my posts
Thank you
Maria

I was on azathioprine for two years (maybe a bit longer, I can't remember) for RA and I thought it was a wonderful drug. Azathioprine, in combination with humira, hydroxychloroquine and pred. brought me the closest to remission I've ever been. I had to come off it because my white count and neutrophils completely disappeared. Since I came off it my RA has never been as well controlled. I'd go back on it tomorrow if they'd let me.
I hope your daughter has some success with it.0 -
I have been on Aza for nearly a year with no side effects. It has really helped my joints. I hope it works for your daughter.0
