so i went to london to see this top specialist. Hes putting me back on steroids but a lower dose for longer, and increased my folic acid for the MXT nausea. then going to give me biologics i think. yay, finally someone that knows what theyr talking about, not like all these idiots here. My specialist nurse actually told me the other day I should go somewhere else as they dont know enough about it here! what a joke! was so angry with them until i got all this sorted. now dont need them, waste of space.

Wow Lizzy you went all the way to London to see a specialist, Alot of the NHS consultants are getting slammed at the moment and with a lot of them it is for good reason. The NHS is in the news for incorrect diagnoises and a lot of us feel we are let down by our specialists. I hope your new specialist helps you and you get the pain relief and meds you need.

well done to you, isn't it great, that 'this is more like it!' feeling you get from someone that's on your wavelength and you immediately have confidence in what they're saying - compared to someone you've been having an uphill struggle with. Hope it all works out.

thanks, yea i cant believe how rubbbish they are here. i mean if they dont know enough about it, they should read the blinking research papers like i did eh? its not hard! but yea this new guy is really good and hes going to see me on the nhs and sort things out, so im relieved to say the least. like someone actually cares that i cant walk and am in pain now yay!
god i was in agony last night, i took so many painkillers and still wasnt helping, thought i was going to have to ring nhs24 and you know how rubbish they are too, they cant do anything. didnt get much sleep. but started the steroids now as had some left in cupboard, until i can contact my doc tues. so hopefully theyl work in a couple of days for some relieve? 8) iv got to have a horrible endoscopy thing before they give me biologics in the summer. which im dreading coz i find them so painful. but im also excited about getting some treatment finally that might work, so i know i have to do it. hope i feel better soon and can walk again  people dont realise how much they take things like being able to write and use your hands and walk for granted. they think my arthritis will only last for a couple of years- i so hope so. i cant imagine what it would be like not to have this pain all the time again.
