Sulfa and hypo's

I'm getting used to taking 4 tablets of sulfasalazine a day, two in the morning and two in the evening, but I am having a constant battle keeping my blood sugars up!

Are there any diabetics on here whose blood sugars have gone down with the sulfa?

I have hypoglycaemia at the best of times, so my husband is staying on hand in case I go too low.

Has anyone else noticed this effect? I think I'll be off to the doctors first thing on Tuesday.

Margaret

I don't have diabetes but I would urge you to go to your GP and contact your rheumatology department first thing on Tuesday. I am sure that you can't be the first diabetic to experience this 'complication' and I hope that they will be able to help you. In the meantime, if things don't feel right, don't be afraid to go to A&E, ASAP. Take care and I wish you well. DD

    Thanks DD.

I am already preparing myself to get to the GPs for 8am in the morning to make sure of an appointment.
