Our lovely Iris, went into hospital this afternoon, to have her second TKR.
The op is tomorrow, and while Iris is feeling positive about it, it's not entirely straightforward. She had surgery in March (she went into hospital on her birthday!) So this is quite close. Also she's hoping for a spinal anaesthetic, but has osteoporotic fractures in her spine, so is not sure if this will be possible.
Your support and well wishes, will be greatly appreciated. :D

Iris, I hope all goes smoothly, and you have a full and speedy recovery.
Love Numpty (((())))

    Dear Iris

I hope all goes well for you and you are able to have a spinal anaesthetic as that is presumably what you would prefer. You are a brave soul and I am sure you will get through this as well as you have all the other ops. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

    Love and all good wishes,
    Elna x

Thank you Numpty for being in touch with Iris and so caring.

    Hi Iris
I hope things go well for you and you get your spinal anaesthetic.
I have kypho scoliosis and they had problems giving me a spinal anaesthetic
    because of the shape of my spine. {When I had my THR}
They managed ...so heres hoping you get what you want.
    Love

Well I have heard from Iris and let her know about this thread. she can't get online just yet, but is really rather touched by the thread you started Numpty :)

She didn't think many would remember her, but we do don't we

Right operation has gone well and she has already progressed to sticks, which is fantastic. She is optimistic of an early release-date....maybe even hopefully TOMORROW :D

    Love

    Crikey! Tomorrow? Crikey again! :)

Of course we remember her, how could us 'old hands' not? She's a fabulous woman. I wish you the very best, Dorcas, you truly deserve some better times and I hope this op heralds them. DD

 I'm bringing up the rear, Dorcas. Very late on this owing to absence due to husband's party preparations. However, my wellwishes are no less hearty for all that. I'm delighted you're up and about. Tiny Tim and the other fella (whose names escapes me  ) must be doing well. You know the drill so I won't give advice except to say take care, carry on with the good progress and NOT REMEMBER YOU???? How could we forget
