Hi everyone....
I know we can't give medical advice, but I was just wondering what creams or gels I could put on my knees.
I'm nearly 3 weeks post-op and not quite 100% healed but knees feeling very tight and feel as though I need a good moisturiser.
I didn't want to bother my GP and wondered what you guys have been advised to use on your knees...??
Any tips would be gratefully received.....

Are you sure the tightness isn't due to swelling? That's how mine feel when RA flares up. I use any cheap moisturiser from the chemist but not aqueous cream as that is not supposed to be good for some reason, according to my gp.0

I was advised by the physio to massage bio oil or e45 cream into the scar (once the scabbing was gone) after my TKR surgery. I've been using bio oil and it really does seem to help.0

I was told to use any moisturiser for tightness of the scars. However, lots of people (mainly on here) recommended bio oil, so I got some, and it really did seem to help. It's often cheaper in some small chemists than in Boots, unless they have it on special offer.0

I used Johnson's baby oil with aloe vera, and I still do every now and then. You say it's been three weeks? That's no time at all in terms of healing - it's not just the surface which has to knit together, there are the cut tissues underneath too. 'im indoors is now in his fourth month of healing post-appendectomy, his scar is doing OK but he has a lump under it which is caused by the tissues underneath knitting together. He's bio-oiling every day (the gentle massaging helps to break down any adhesions whch may be forming) and will carry on so-doing for at least another six months. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

It's funny isn't it that lots of things are cheaper in little chemists than even supermarkets. It's also a lot cheaper in a well known internet shop.0 -
Hi
I can understand you not wanting to bother your doctor.
If I have any questions like that I go to my pharmacist .....they are mostly very good.
