A big thank to all those who replied to my post Sticks or Crutches I got more response and help from you than I have from my own GP
I have to say that this forum has been a God send to me full of help and information when at a time I was feeling lost and very isolated with no one to talk to about my situation.
I now know that I am not the only one who gets days when the pain gets to much to cope with.
Not the only one when they do go to their GP/ Consultant they get the impression that they are being fobbed off
And not the only one gets the impression that ATOS / ESA Tribunals are trying to stop you from getting what is rightfully yours and you are not as the old saying goes " Swinging the lead "
Once again to all those kind people who responded to my post and to those people who set up this forum THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
Best wishes to you all

You are more than welcome, HARPER04, as 'practising arthritics' we know our stuff and are more than happy to share. I think that sometimes GPs are given an unfair press, after all they cannot be expected to know everything about everything (or even remember us as individuals) but at the very least they should point us towards the right people to help if they can't. When my arthritis began I was fobbed off for years by my original GP so I've learned my lesson - be firm, polite, co-operative but not afraid to challenge their knowledge. As far as I am concerned my doctors are doing their best to help and I have to play my part.
This forum is a good place for information and support. We've all been there, done that, swallowed this and injected the other.DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
You came to the right place and we all support one another, you could say we are a big family! We all have our bad times and good times, we have fun and laugh together and we try and help each other when needed.
Finding a good G.P who you can trust and knows your condition inside out and wants to help is a good thing. I know I'm lucky that my G.P is exactly that.0 -
Hello Harper
I have just come off my hols so I might have missed this..but just to say I have been using crutches while there has well as a wheelchair and what a difference I have found..you are more upright with crutches and not swaying from side to side ...I have noticed a difference in my back.....xLove

Hi Harper
I am so pleased that members of the forum were able to help you. We all look out for each other and try to help those where we can. If not we offer support. We all have our own "specialities" that come under the umbrella of arthritis from our previous experiences and over time and we use this knowledge to give help to others.
It was so good to read your thank you message. It gives us a bit of a lift even if we did not answer your initial posting. We all do our bit of sharing and it helps us too.
You look after yourself,
