As well as having Arthur in my hands I have a very rare neurological condition which affects a lot of my body, I have been in contact with a lady who gets treated in the same hospital although we have not met yet but will soon.

I have not been able to work since last year but this lady does as a school teacher, it was getting difficult for her driving back and forth and lifting and laying, she has since found out she can get help from the government, the result is she gets a taxi to and from work @ £50.00 a day and a classroom assistant the cost I do not know but would guess at least £150.00 per week, the lady wants to work as long as she can but is not sure how much longer she can carry on.

I am posting this to let anyone know that if they are forced to work make sure you get the help that is available out there, if more people start claiming this the government may sit up and take notice when it is going to cost an average of £400.00 to keep someone in a job as opposed to paying ESA..................Marie xx

Oh crikey, I don't know what to say. Her situation is not yours but because she is involved with the Scottish education system she therefore qualifies for this help? I worked in a specialist boarding school (in England) for dyslexics before I 'went under' and I remember that the statemented day pupils were ferried to and from school via private taxis. I think it bears some research; no-one automatically tells you what help may be out there so posts like this are very informative. Thank you, Villier, for the heads-up. DD
