i've been going to the hydrotherapy pool for over 16 years
but now they have had to put new pipes in and do losts of other work.
when i step in the water i get a cold ring around were the water comes up i go in the deep end i cannot swim but i move around as best as i can when i get home i have a aching in my tummy and i'm off to the toilet all through the night.
there is a man who goes who has the same cold problem.
i just dont know what to do but i think i should stop.

Oh Joan, this isn't good, is it? Is this pool at your hospital or is it run by the council? I don't understand the cold feeling (maybe they are not heating it enough?) but I do wonder if they've altered what they put into the water to keep it clean and that could be upsetting your tummy. I don't have any bright ideas to help - no dull ones either - but I am sorry that this has happened. If the hydro helps it would be a shame to stop it. ((((())))) DD

    hello Joan
Im in agreement with DD it does sound like they are putting something different or stronger into the water....I have heard of chlorine causing inching...but not a cold feeling...but the tummy is a different matter I would certainly tell them about it...and hopefully they will find out what is going on.
I do hope you can carry on going..I know how much you like it xx

It does sound as if it might be the chlorine or whatever they use to clean it, Joan. I think you should ask about it. It doesn't sound very healthy and there might be others who are suffering in silence or who have just stopped going.

    Thank you Sticky Barbara
none of my friends there have it they just say the waters a bit cold.
the water is kept clean and when i said it was cold they said
it's as warm as it should be.
before they did the alterations it was a lot warmer the air was warm as well now its not you felt warm as soon as you went in the building.
    thank you for your help.

Joan I would ask why the water is cold that is defeating the object of hydrotherapy....warm water to exercise in...I hate it when things change..you have been going for such a long time...hopefully they will see sense xx

Joan I think it might be down to the cuts in the money that the councils get...if the air is cold then they mustn't have the heating has high...there is nothing worse than coming out of a pool in to cold air...and like you say the water will not feel has warm .
I hope you can get used to it...xx

    MMmm.....

Not good, but Joan if it's making you 'ill' you really can't keep going can you? I do know that air temp affects how cold 'we' feel getting into a pool for definite, but it's not just that causing you trouble is it?

I am so sorry about that as it's benefitted you for so long :(

    Love

I don't suppose there's another one you can go to, Joan?
