Had triple fusion 11 days ago and I'm still in hospital.

Surgeon has never in 23 years seen a foot like mine when he opened me up. MRI didn't show what he found, he was amazed.

Not allowed to get out of bed as I get instant swelling as soon as I stand upright and my toes turn blue/purple and I'm unable to move them.

Hoping to be out soon and back on line.

Ended up in High Dependency Unit after operation for 3 days. Surgery took 4 1/2 hours.

Keep smiling everyone :)

    Gosh!!!!

Your poor foot and poor poor you  The surgeon must have wanted you to understand just how bad it was. Lets' hope you can do him proud, over time, with a good recovery :)

I do hope you are coping ok? have you got plenty to do there and do you have a 'release date' yet

Am so sorry to hear you are still in hospital and having a rough time. Hope you can escape before too long. It does sound as though it was quite a major op and you will have to take things very gradually. I wish you as speedy a recovery as possible.

Let us know how you are getting on. Take care. Beryl

And you're telling us to keep smiling :o:lol:

It sounds more like long haul than quick fix, sailrib, but all the more reason to get things right and not overdo it at first.

I hope things go well and, despite the surgeon's difficulties, he'll have made a big difference to your future.

Hello sailrib, I apologise for not being around but I am going through a difficult time at the moment.

That was some op, wasn't it? I am pleased to read that you are now home and I hope the healing and recuperation can properly begin. I wish you well. DD

Very happy to be home. Hospital seems already to be a distance memory.

Having a miniature dachshund now and being in a cast for 3 months with no weight bearing is causing trouble. My dog is so small and having to deal with her is making me go on the floor about 20 times a day which properly won't help my recovery. :)
