Hi All,
Ive been self employed for years, and my doctor has declared me unfit for work. A line for 28 days. I applied for ESA and lo and behold, got my first payment this week. What happens now? Do I have to send in medical certificates every 28 days? Can they decide at 13 weeks that I cant have it anymore? I know it can last for a year, but what happens then?
Thanks

You send med cert in for 13 weeks (or until they group u) during which time u will get an esa50 form which they use to decide whether to put u in the wrag or support group or they call u for interview if they can't decide via the form. U must send med cert until this or u will loose our benefit.
Am not sure what happens after a year though, have u looked on the DWP site? Lots of info there about it.0
