Hi just got home from seeing my Orthopaedic Consultant
Surgery went well and hopefully won't need further surgery but that's not a 100% guarantee and if in the future the pain returns as my 2 nd toe is really arthritic I could need more surgery lets hope not
I have to wear my snazzy boot for two more weeks then can wear sturdy trainers or walking sandals
In four weeks I can drive yippee
I can now shower but not to get wound too wet no more trying to do gymnastics getting in the bath
Have exercises to manipulate my joints so my toes don't curl up!
So I'm a happy bunny

Great stuff Maria, that sounds very positive, keeping fingers crossed you don't need any more surgery. If you are like me you will be desperate to drive, but four weeks will not be long in going by, enjoy that shower .............Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile
smile another smile and soon there
will be miles and miles of smiles
just because you smiled I wish your
day is full of Smiles0 -

That does sound positive, Maria, I am pleased. I hope you can carry on with being a good girl so that all continues to go smoothly for you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Good progress, Maria. Keep at it.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thank you all
I'm doing well
Making sure I do my toe exercises and have only twice have I forgot to put my boot on but that's when I need the loo in the early hours so think that's acceptable
Have just ordered some walking sandals as there is no way I can wear my clumpy new balance trainers in the coming months
Hopefully they will arrive in time as can get rid of my boot in 5 days time
Yippee

Oh smack my pandies I went to sainsburys with hubby without my crutch oh boy although I managed well I did feel it by the time I got home
Lesson learnt will be using my crutch today when I go with my daughter to the hospital I promise

We all mess up due to over-ambition at one time or another. What seems easy enough in the house is a far different matter out in the big wide world. I hope you get on OK today, Maria, and your daughter too.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thank you SW
She's fully recovered and enjoyed her Chinese take away
My foot has not faired well today but to be expected as unable to put my foot up at the hospital
So now in bed and going to rest all day tomorrow
Well that's the plan anyway
