The Tribunal Day has arrived...

...I have been up since 4am, but surprisingly do not feel too stressed.
It has taken 15 months from sending the first form in to this day.
In the meantime I have had various MRI scans and specialist appointments, adjusted my medication to an acceptable level for me to handle, and retired on state pension.
Why do I get this feeling that the time between my appeal and the refusal of it was timed so that it was a couple of weeks before my state pension started. Maybe they thought I would go away then and not bother with a tribunal.
I must admit I have thought about doing just that, but then the stubbornness in me kicks in and I know I have to have my last chance at making them believe me - that I was not (and for that matter would not be now) capable of having a job.
I have a bundle of paperwork to take with me, including a couple of MRI reports that they haven't had yet and even the DVD of my Xrays (don't think they will look at these, but thought I would take them and offer anyway).
I will let you know late how I get on. With some of the stories I have seen I am not holding my breath and will probably come away upset and still feeling that they see me as a scrounger. That is all I want, to be believed. The money is not an issue as I am not trying to carry on claiming ESA as I am now a pensioner. I just want to 'clear my name'.

Hi Polly
Good luck
I'm still waiting for mine I only claimed ESA for 5 months till my ill health retirement started in march and the b******s want it back!
Atos awarded my ill health retirement for the NHS pensions but Atos for the DWP said I'm fit for work! Crazy
Go in fighting
You will defeat Atos

I won and I didn't even have to say anything. The Judge and Doctor had gone through my notes and decided before I even went in.
I was given 15 points and told I would get the payment balance backdated to my medical date.
To say it was a relief is an understatement. I thanked them (more than once I think) and went out with a big smile on my face.
Someone who believes me and the medical evidence at last
Have you noticed that I am pleased?0 -
