Hi All,
I recall getting a chest xray on my first visit to the rheumatologist and getting put on mtx. I think I was told I should get another x ray one year on. Its now almost two years and ive not been offered one. Next appoint is not till November. Should I chase this up?

    they do xrays on your chest when they are thinking about the biologics , been on MTX 15 years & never had it done for that

    you could ask at your next appointment if you are worried

    Hi;
    I had one prior to starting mtx. My GP insisted I get it as the rheum suggested, but forgot to requ. it. It is important because of the unusual side effect of lung irritation from mtx. Maybe your GP could requ. one for you?

    I had one before I began the meth but only had further when starting the biologics. If you want one then maybe the GP could refer you but it might be better to run this past your rheumtaologist first. DD

    I didn't have a chest x-ray before starting Methotrexate and I am asthmatic. It has not been mentioned since although my GP asks if my asthma has been affected by the meds whenever I see her.

    Hi All,
    Thanks for your replies. I am going to ask the dr when I see him next week, but methinks he will say its a rhuemy issue and best wait till I see her in November. Like you say boomer13, it was something to do with getting nodules on your lungs.

    take care
