Hello, I am new to this forum and would like to know if anyone else feels intensely irritable (to put it mildly) after a depo medrone injection. I have been diagnose with polyarthritis and am under a "lupus umbrella" I have taken Sulphazaline in the past but didn't get on with it as it raised my liver levels, I was then put on Methotrexate for a few months but that raised my liver levels as well. I have had a liver biopsy to find out why which told me I had a fatty liver!! I have now been put on Hydroxychloraquine?? i also take amytryptyline to ease pain in the night and co dydramol but have to have steroid injections every 3 or 4 months because of the incredible pain in a lot of my joints and muscles other than that I am perfectly fit and healthy!!!! I must admit that the injection does give me almost immediate relief but the bad temper worries me slightly, has anyone else experienced this
Jill

    Hello, it's nice to meet you and I am glad you have found us - though it's a shame you've had to. I know that steroid injections and tablets can cause mood swings or a general 'upset' in temperament, I have not had that myself but some on here have. I hope that one of them will be along soon to relate their experiences but please don't think you're alone in this - you're not, OK? I wish you well. DD
    Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi DD
    Thanks for your reply i am sure that my husband would be grateful to know that it is not completely unusual to be living with the complete loony tune that has been living with him for the last week or so!!

    Hi Jill;

    I take oral pred, not injections and a month ago when I started it again my emotions went all askew. From extreme anxiety for two weeks to a plummet into depression. I'm always irritable :lol: so that one wouldn't have been new for me! I think the anxiety effect makes me even more edgy overall. My poor husband!! I do try to stay on top of the effects and warn him that it's the meds and not to take it personally. It's horrible, it's it?

    I guess I'm a little more even-tempered at the moment but overall I really dislike this aspect of taking pred.

    Take care, I hope it settles down for you.
