Hi Cheeky, You don't need to apologise! My feet and ankles are swollen at the moment due to this flare up I'm having at the mo, I don't think your family will think your weak! I'm sure they understand what you are going through. Especially using an electric wheelchair! I think that's your mind playing a nasty trick on yourself to think that! Us women can take more pain than men, we have a stronger pain threshold!! It is a shock to yourself from being a healthy, hard working, multi-tasking strong woman to becoming this person using disability aids, taking numerous meds and feeling weak and in pain a lot. We have all had to deal with it and it does bring you down that is why we are on this forum to support each other when we need it. Hope you have a better day soon, sending you a warm (())

    Hello cheekygirl
Please dont apologies...It must be awful when your feet become painful...I learned a while ago to stop thinking I was weak ..like you I went to the gym and walked for miles... its has taken a few years to get my head round things...and even now I have my down days.but it will do you good to get all this out...and we are here to listen...
Some very gentle hugs for you ((((())))xx
    Love

My feet hurt all the time, I have PsA in my toe joints and OA in my ankles, I feel as though I'm walking on broken glass (though that might be less painful. :) ) Bubba is right, the changes we see in ourselves are hard to understand, let alone accept, but you have a family around you and they should be able (and willing) to take up some of the 'slack' that you feel is there. Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

I hope the orthotist's new boots and insoles will make a difference, cheekygirl. I empathise as I have foot problems too.

However, the orthotist can only help you to live with damage done. It's the rheumatolgist who can help prevent more damage occurring. I don't know if you are taking a DMARD (sorry, I may have forgotten  ) but, if not, I think you need an appointment to sort out meds. Meth isn't the only option.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
