Hello everyone
Just an update on my new hip, I am 4 weeks post op now, and the new hip is doing really well..it hard to believe that it is not mine...if you know what I mean...not sure what I expected but it feels so strong..and nearly pain free...
I keep going out for short walks..has I get so tired and it swells but all this is to be expected..
My others hip is grumbling away...but it can grumble for now...
Sleeping on my back is hard because of OA in it, but I am not doing to bad for sleep, and I am hardly noticing the ted stocking ...think I might miss them when they come off permanent...
And I did my last injection yesterday....so tonight I can relax...
I go back to see my consultant in two weeks so shall see what he say about sleeping on my side and the 90% rule and if I can go to one crutch...
I have to thank you all for your support..it meant so much and still does...
Love Barbara xxx
Love
Barbara

Crikey girl, is it four weeks already? I've been wondering how things were going for you and this all sounds very positive to me. I send hearty congratulations on your bravery, courage and post-op recovery work, you didn't think you could do it but you have. Three cheers for Barbara! :D DD

PS Those teds are verrrrrrrry sexy.

Barbara, you are doing brilliantly. I'm so glad all is well. Of course the new hip is yours - they don't recycle 'em you know

You've come a long way and you deserve success. It couldn't happen to a nicer, kinder person.

I may be late Barbara, but sincere congrats on your successful new hip, and your rehab. It's uplifting to hear of your success and I really couldn't believe it's been four weeks either!

Bye to olde hips! I'm jealous, by the way..... :)

    Hi Barbar
You sound like you are doing so well!! I knew you would be ok, after all I did it so anyone can!! You will make the decision for your other hip when you feel ready.
No more injections!! Woohoo :D Only another couple of weeks and you can ditch the Teds, however sexy DD says they are!! (I know what to get DD for Christmas if I get your name in the Secret Santa AC style!! )
Keep up the good work Barbara xx

You are doing marvellously well Barbara. Won't be long before you can sleep on your side again. I think you might be ready for your new hip in 6 months but, if not, I'm sure you can have it done when you are ready.

    Hi Barbara
Sorry I'm late answering this but you knew I was away so you know I'm not ignoring you

Miss those passion killers........not a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't wait to get rid of mine  Think of your poor hubby as well....he wont have to tug and pull to get them on and off either {same as mine did} :D

Another couple of weeks and you'll be able to sleep on your side....fantastic I know time seems to have flown for us but I bet it hasn't for you

So pleased things are improving all the time for you Barbara, I know other parts aren't behaving but at least you have your hip to smile about. I find I have to sleep on my back due to the pain in my hips, it's been so long I'm getting used to it!!

Next week is my pain clinic appointment....to see what they can do about this back....cant wait....
    Thanks again everyone xxxx

I'm sure they'll be able to sort something out for your pain Barbara. I'm sure your hubby is doing his best. He is, after all, just a man. Not long till you can sleep on your side. Hopefully, that'll help a bit.
