    I don't think you should suddenly have a lot of pain in replaced joints, wendgro. I never have until the very old TKR began to fail. However, having some joints replaced is no guarantee that you won't get OA in others. I'm not quite sure if this is what you meant but, if not, just say so and I'll try to give a better answer.

    Hi,

    I don't think I can really answer ure question as, luckily, I haven't had any replacements but I wanted to offer my support until the much more knowledgeable members come along. ((((hugs))))

    If ure in a great deal of pain I'm not sure why you are only taking paracetamol wen you have tramadol?

    Regarding a 'flare' of osteoarthritis ... I don't believe it flares in the way the autoimmune, inflammatory, types of arthritis do!!

    I'm really sorry I can't be helpful. I do think a trip to ure GP is in order tho. The best of luck, i hope ure helped asap.xx

    Hello Wendgro, how very frustrating for you, yes? I haven't had any replacements but I think it could be that you are experiencing an OA flare - they happen but in a different way to an auto-immune flare. It may be better to take the pain meds more regularly, they will then have a cumulative effect and will deal better with the pain; as things ease, you can reduce them. Make sure you get plenty of rest, keep well-hydrated and I hope you feel better soon. ((())) DD

    The recent heat throughly upset my PsA affected joints, my OA was gracious enough to take a step back but now the termperature has dropped it's once more coming to the fore. Have you ever had trouble like this before, Wendgro? I think it's a flare-type event, it's reminding you that it's still there. :( DD

    Hi wendygro;

    Being nosy here, but have you ever had a work-up for autoimmune-type arthritis? I'm a little ignorant about the details of OA, but you seem to have a lot of joints affected. Have the docs ruled an inflammatory type of arthritis for you?

    It does sound a bit odd to me. My OA joints are rarely all bad together. I think I'd try DD's suggestion of keeping up the pain meds then, if that doesn't work, go back to the G P.
