HI all

Posted recently about pain in foot since April. I now have to go for an MRI. Anyone know what this entails? Surely my whole body wont go in the machine? I'm a bit claustrophobic. Will I get results there and then?
Thanks in advance.
Elaine

I don't know, Elaine. I'd imagine not but I've only ever had an MRI when a hip was broken so it was the full works for me. I know there are people with foot problems on here and I hope one will be along to help soon.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Hi Elaine

I had an MRI for my foot a month ago!

No worries you go in feet first!! They lay you on the bed with a pillow and if lucky hear some really rubbish music. They will wrap your foot up in a splint so you don't move it. It's comfortable enough. You will go into the scanner up to about your knee. The assistants are really good and you have a buzzer if you panic. I've also done head first - not so good. Expect some loud noises - they warn you when it's about to happen.

Good clear images which are interesting to see.

Good luck - lets us know how u get on.

    HI A,
Thanks for that info. I was really worried about about going in head first. I think panic would set in with me. Got stuck in a toilet on a wee fishing boat on holiday once, I was actually on the floor shouting underneath the door HELP HELP! When I got out, everyone was rolling about laughing, but it was'nt funny for me! lol
