I have taken Naproxen for pain relief for about 6 years. Not every day but when needed. Could this have caused my recent raised blood pressure?

The Helpline people aren't always able to answer posts at the weekend. I'm just an ordinary forum member.
I think, from my very limited knowledge that there is a small danger of anti-inflammatories raising the blood pressure to undesirable levels but I'm not sure that an occasional dose would do much damage. Other things can cause high B.P. too -diet, smoking, lack of exercise etc.
If this is something that concerns you I think you should discuss it with your GP.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Dear Jasmine Theodora
Thank you for your posting on the forum. As we are not medically trained here on the helpline you should discuss this concern about your medication with your GP. There is information on anti inflammatory medication on the link http://www.arthritisresearchuk.org/arthritis-information/drugs/nsaids.aspx
I hope this is helpful.
Best Wishes
