Cher, you're showing your age.

Aged 67 Cherilynn Thingyummywhatnot has released a new single, sounding exactly the same as she has for the past thirty-odd years (thank whoever for sound men, yes? ). In the accompanying video (here's a thought dearie, don't make one and really blaze a trail) she appears to remain fairly static whilst others do the gyrating in which she used to specialise. Give it up girl, ageing is better done gracefully and with style, not in a frantic effort to try and persuade people who remember you from the 1960's that, for you, time has stood still. It hasn't. Same goes for captain formaldehyde AKA Sir Paul McCartney, why do they keep inflicting us with slower and slower, and more mumbled renditions of his past glories, doesn't he have any pride?, he looks like his skin is melting wax and his hair is either a wig or seriously coloured up with "just for men" or some other enhancement, either way it can't have cost him much as its so obvious its a joke, what really irks me is the merest whiff of a "charity" gig and up he pops like some kind of zombie on crystal meth!, then he inflicts us with another brain numbing rendition of "hey Jude" yet when the total money raise is shown its only ever in the low tens of millions yet he never dips his hand into his wee stained trouser pocket now does he?, if he did they wouldn't even need to hold the show at all, (thus saving us the torture he's so keen on inflicting on us plebs) well not when he's reputed to be worth £600 b***y million pounds!, what does he want all the money for anyway he can't take it with him and formaldehyde won't keep him going for ever so I'm at a loss to why he can't just leave us all alone for once hasn't he got any hobbies?0

Is this it, DD? Cher, via Daily Mail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2398092/Cher-video-exclusive-Womans-World-Star-ends-12-year-hiatus-charts-girl-power-anthem.html
I've just watched it. I found the video bland, like an overlong advert, while the lyrics are too vague and repetitive to have much of an impact. I don't mind Cher gyrating, though, as it's quite funny. And next time I have any man trouble, I might just feel inspired to sing, 'This is a woman's world!', at the luckless chap, in my best Cher croon :?
They missed a trick too, not inviting me along to the video and asking for one of my powerchair pirouettes. Ah well. Maybe next time
Best wishes,
PheePsA (psoriatic arthritis) and other things since 1990. Happy to help when I can :-)0 -
