Hi Mike,
U & me both at the moment except my worst pain is from my right hip :?
Have you tried heat/ice on ure knees? I use an infra red lamp on my hands & knees & it can help a little at times so I thought it was worth mentioning.
I hope the swelling & pain reduces asap!!

Oh Mike, I've been there and done that and it still happens - it's not on, is it? You say your leg is elevated, do you also have a cushion or pillow under the affected knee so that it isn't lying flat? That can make a difference - I always have a cushion under my knees and I sleep with a pillow between them (I am a side sleeper). Keep up with the dullers, OK? They will help. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I think it could have something to do with the weather Mike. I have had alot more pain in the last 7 days than I can ever remember, hence now going for the THR.
I hope you soon feel better
Take care

Hi Mike
I am sorry to hear what has happened after your pleasant day out. As well as elevating the leg are you putting ice around the knee too. This helps to bring down the inflammation and also numbs the pain. You could try a knee support bandage, if so make sure that it is long enough to go halfway down your calf and halfway up the thigh. Probably a bit warm to wear this weather but along with ice pack should be tolerable. Do you take any anti inflammatories?
I think you should perhaps see your gp if it does not improve at all.

Hi Mike;
We arthritics always pay for our nice times, it seems.
Hope the knee settles down soon.0 -
We all hate Arthur
I had a lovely day last week with hubby, daughter, son and one crutch left wheelchair i borrowed off my mum in the car did the most walking I have in months 8)
Oh boy did I suffer the next day and the rest of the week but it was worth it just to feel normal again
We all need to kick Arthur in the butt every now and then no matter what the consequence will be 8)
We need to let it know it won't beat us

You've already been given plenty of good advice, Mike, so I'll just send sympathy instead. It happens. That's arthritic life, I'm afraid. I hope it eases up soon.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

That's the way to deal with it, Mike
It would probably help, another time, if you could do something, anything to limit the amount you had to walk, rest from time to time (Any pubs en route ) and always stop a bit before you need to. It's so boring and annoying but it does make a big difference. I'm glad things are improving. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
