Hi all,

Can GP's give the general steroid injection for arthritis??

I'm in a bad way and travelling over the weekend so I really need extra relief! I can't get hold of my rheumatologist at all :/

Thank you

    Hi Sezeelson

Mine does, but only after he has prescribed it for me and I have collected it from the chemist :?

He does specialise in Arthritis though.

Do you have the tel number of the rheumatology nurses??

I hope you can get sorted and enjoy your weekend.

    Love

Well, I've got OA and so all my steroid injections have been given by my GP.

    Hope you get it sorted.

Since I weaned myself off pred my GP won't prescribe me steroids of any sort, which is fair enough. I must admit I never had much relief from the jabs but if they work for you then I hope you are able to have one. How long is it since your last? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Yes, I have had one at my doctors surgery. And she has told me when I need another just to make an appointment.

Hope you are able to get one and that your travelling goes well for you.

    Thank you!

My appointment is at 10am, I am staying hopeful!! I really don't want to have to miss this weekend but I've got to put my health first.

My last injection was in June, it was supposed to help while they sort out my
Enbrel prescription but, 3 months on and I'm still waiting and can't get hold of him! :x

I'm hoping my GP will send him a letter and a kick up the backside!

My GP does my steriod injections on a regular basis.

But they do need to be trainied in order to do them so I would check if any of your GP's are trained at your surgery and go from there.

Steriod injections have helped me loads in the past.

    No luck :(

She gave me a prescription but no one had the dosage I needed in stock and so I have to wait until tomorrow for it :(

It's a huge pain as he said anytime after 11am and I'm going to need to book my appt. at 8am!? I don't even know when I'm going to be able to pick it up though :/ and I don't want to be too late incase I feel ready to travel!?

    Stressed!?!
